Early morning start but a disaster, machine struggled to start, left at 9:00am and flew for ten minutes. We had temperature problems and returned to Brandvlei. Flushed the radiator and replaced coolant to radiator... left again at 11:30am. Next stop Thuru. Flew 2 hours then landed at Thuru Lodge with a flat tyre... Landed with 10 litres in hand.. 25 knot head wind and gusty. Travelled for an average of half an hour before we saw civilisation. Max speed 55 miles an hour. Pictures to follow...
Fitted new tube only to find an old valve between the tube and tyre... the cause of the problem... Thuru is great and the first taste of luxury... warm water and a soft bed...
At Thuru at the moment. We have 390 miles to go tomorrow and end up at Wolwedans. The machine is fuelled and ready to go.... We still have not got to the bottom of the engine temperature problem... There is a Rotax Mac at Uppington...
