It has been snowing and it’s minus 5 in the mornings... the flight suits are a Godsend... Clear skies – Good day – it was the right thing to do to stay. Flushed, fitted new radiator and coolant... departed to Middledrift Farm. Had to climb to 4500 ft to get over the Perdeberg Mountains and into the Karoo. The Karoo is huge and has no boundaries.. Refueled at Middeldrift, had lunch with Louis and Hunnie and back on track to Brandvlei. Again we flew around the mountains as we had a 3000ft climb to get over the next mountains. Flew two hours to get to Brandvlei and was met by Frick, a very helpful man who organized fuel and a Police escort into town... Different... The accommodation, a one room Khaya attached to the garage.... Dinner was served at the Wind Pomp Cafee attached to a 24 hour garage. Staying in a Khaya we had dinner - ladies ribs... 1kg big ladies... Jim had fish and chips, Haddock from Cape Town.... A good meal! Off to bed...
